South Africa has 26 public universities, 50 public TVET colleges, and hundreds of accredited private institutions, choosing between them can be overwhelming. This platform brings key information together in one place so you can compare your options quickly and confidently.
Our website covers university rankings based on international research performance, private college rankings by reputation and accreditation, a complete province-by-province list of all public TVET colleges and private higher education institutions, direct links to the official application portals of every listed institution, step-by-step online application guidance, and tutoring packages for high school and university students.
This platform is built primarily for Grade 11 and Grade 12 learners preparing to apply to university or college, as well as working adults considering part-time or distance study. It is also useful for parents and school counsellors supporting students through the application process. All content is free and requires no registration.
One of the most common points of confusion for South African students is the difference between public and private institutions. Public universities and TVET colleges are government-funded, which means students who qualify can access NSFAS bursaries to cover tuition, accommodation, and living costs. Private colleges and universities are independently funded, NSFAS generally does not apply there, but many private institutions offer their own bursaries and payment plans. Understanding this distinction early can save significant time and financial stress during the application process.
